I am the Director of adult Computer Education at the Science Museum of Minnesota (SMM).  I have worked at the SMM since 1999.  I started teaching "Family Genealogy - Internet" in 2005.  My academic training is in English, specifically Old and Middle English language.  I became interested in computing while using computer applications to parse Old English texts.  Having been "seduced by the dark side of the Force," I abandoned my academic work and had a 20-year career in high-performance computing before coming to the Museum.
